The Mutsuki family. The YaCho, or "Evening Butterflies". Two groups who have had a mutual contract; a sort of "understanding" for countless years.

From the first contracts a child every ten years or so within the Mutsuki family was born completely androgynous; complete with butterfly-shaped birthmarks on their bodies. Without easy ways to reproduce, the family was only able to keep themselves growing through a rather... Unorthodox process. Once each member was old enough to be involved in sexual activity, they sleep with an elder member of the family. After this point they are able to choose their desired gender and move in with the rest of the beings known as the ChouTsuki...

Born as half of the first-ever set of twins in the Mutsuki family, Yoru and Chou were considered extreme oddities, soon becoming the subjects of an experiment... Yoru was raised as a male while Chou was raised as a female. The albino Chou was born mute, nearly blind, and complete with extreme sensitivity to light; making her almost completely dependent on the care of her "older brother". For almost all of their lives the twins lived shut away in an abandoned mansion, with no other human contact.
